Enfield Parent Infant Partnership (EPIP)
Overview
EPIP is a parent-baby relationship service for parents-to-be or parents with a young baby who are finding things are more difficult than anticipated
- Feeling low or depressed and concerned that this may be having an effect on your baby
- Feeling very worried and anxious since the birth of your baby and that it may be affecting your relationship together
- Feeling concerned that you have not formed a bond with your baby in the way you had hoped you would
- Concerns about your baby’s development or how your baby is doing and feeling stressed by this
- Becoming a new parent has stirred up some unexpected difficult feelings.
Duration
EPIP clinicians can see parents and their babies for one session or for ongoing therapeutic work.Each family is assessed, and length of intervention is dependent on the needs.
We work with parents and their babies up to the age of 2 years.
Delivery
EPIP clinicians will see parents and their babies at our CAMHS Clinic at Bay Tree House, EN2 or sometimes at Children Centres or Family HubsWho Is It For?
Parents to-be and parents with babies up to aged 2 years
Referral Criteria:
- Parents or parents-to-be (from the 3rd trimester) who are worried about their relationships with their babies.
- Parents may be struggling with Post Natal Depression, Anxiety or other complex mental health issues which may be affecting their capacity to parent in the way they hoped.
- Parents who have a complex history in their own childhood, or with previous children, and are concerned that this will affect their parenting.
- Or for any new parent struggling with the adjustment to parenthood and the emotional challenges which may be affecting their enjoyment of their babies and their confidence in parenting.
