First Aid Programme for Parents/Carers
Overview
ABC Parents is a free programme bringing parents and families together across Enfield and Haringey to build confidence, share support and improve family health and wellbeing.
Our free Child First Aid course helps parents and carers build the practical knowledge and confidence to respond to common childhood emergencies. Courses are delivered in local community venues by healthcare professionals, in a friendly and supportive environment.
The course covers practical first aid skills relevant to parents and carers, including:
- What to do in a range of common childhood emergencies
- CPR and resuscitation
- Responding to choking
- Recognising when a child may need urgent medical help
- Practical guidance and opportunities to ask questions
- Building confidence to respond in an emergency
On successful completion of the course, participants receive a certificate. Courses are free and available to parents and carers living in Enfield and Haringey.
Sessions also offer free childcare, subject to availability.
Duration
Courses usually run from 9:30am to 2:30pm, with short breaks and refreshmentsprovided. Course times may vary, so please check the details of your chosen session

Parents, carers and other adults (living in Enfield or Haringey) who regularly look after children and would like to develop their first aid knowledge and confidence.
