Virtual Reality (VR)
Overview
Virtual Reality (VR) allows parents/carers to experience the impact of trauma, abuse and neglect through the eyes of the child.
This is a tool designed to enhance parents/carers’ understanding of a child’s emotions, trauma, and potential triggers to improve the care, support, and guidance they provide.
Practitioners use Virtual Reality (VR) technology to provide parents/carers the opportunity to experience the world of a child exposed to risks outside the home – known as extra-familial harm.
It –
- provides parents/carers the opportunity to experience the world of a child exposed to extra-familial harm;
- helps parents/carers understand the dangers their child is exposed to/at risk of;
