Enfield Special Educational Needs and Disability Information, Advice and Support Service (SENDIASS)

Overview

The SENDIAS Service is a statutory service for SEND and offers workshops and information sessions to parents/carers, drop-in sessions for parents/carers in community centres across Enfield; SENDIASS also offers focus groups for young adults to ensure they are consulted with and included in design of service provisions.

The Parent and Carers Coffee Mornings with include matters relating to SEND and training around Children and Families Act 2014 legislation, to empower parent and carers with both strategies to support their children and their legal rights on matters relating to Special education needs and disabilities.

The SENDIASS service provide information on the following:
• SEN Code of Practice
• Children and Families Act
• The Local Offer
• Personal Budget
• Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP)
• Participation
• Annual Reviews
• School Exclusions
• School Admissions
• SEN School placements

We support families with completing forms related to education such as Parental request forms for an EHC needs assessment, support with advice on educational matters for their child with SEND, and support with complaints against procedure, mediation and appeals to the SEND tribunal.

We do not help with completion of benefit documents

Duration

The service is free and is open Monday to Friday from 9.00am-5.00pm, all year

Open to all Parents/Carers in Enfield with children aged 0 – 25 years with special educational needs;
